How about anti-spyware software?

If you're running two of these things and cleaned up the system, but also keeps crashing Windows Explorer, then you can have a situation on their hands. More than likely, your system from a non-optimized or sufferingcorrupted Windows registry.

The Windows registry is the central database of the operating system. All information on all hardware and software, user accounts, networking, security, and the behavior of the operating system are stored in this database. So every time you make a change in the system, such as adding new hardware when it's something that takes place inside the PC or if it is a USB-only device, the Windows registry is updated with informationon the new hardware. The same applies to software applications or games installed or uninstalled on your computer. And every time you surf the Internet and download files, it is music, movies, documents or images can be read from or write to your Windows Windows registry.

Over time the Registry can be corrupted and not optimized. Simply put, this means that to overcome it, are missing or invalid information in the database. It is alsomeans that the database is too large and there is a lot of wasted space.

When these situations occur, then your Windows Explorer is very slow and unresponsive, the system crashes, and even crash.
