1. November 2010: Tim Spofford presented a public lecture to the University community about the importance of ensuring that legal and functional technology universities such as websites and applications by persons with disabilities is available. Mr. Spofford discussed inaccessible because the technology can be considered by the Federal Government as an act of unlawful discrimination, and can be the basis for a student or faculty of discrimination complaint with the Office for Civil Rights (OCR) of the Department ofof Education. Mr. Spofford has recently retired as a senior staff attorney for the Office for Civil Rights (OCR) of the Department of Education of the United States. His work has involved a wide range of issues relating to civil rights at all levels of education, he has specialized in disability discrimination in colleges and universities. He is regarded both inside and outside of the OCR as an expert on legal requirements for disabled access to information technology.
